          Dr. DuPre is a retired Forensic Pathologist and former Medical Examiner; however she began her career in law enforcement with Columbia City Police (SC) where she walked a beat in the mid 1970s!  She then became a detective with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department (SC) and later worked in undercover operations for a few years.   After finishing medical school she completed her residency in Pathology at Duke University Medical Center and went on to complete a Forensic Fellowship in San Antonio, Texas with Dr. Vincent DiMaio (known as the Father of Forensic Pathology) and in Miami, Florida at the Miami Dade Medical Examiner’s office. 
         For  several years, (nearly 20) DuPre has lived in the Caribbean working for the US and British Governments and the Department of Justice.  As a medical examiner she has worked in seven states and in two foreign jurisdictions.   She has testified as an expert witness in numerous cases and has presented at state, regional and national law enforcement and medical conferences. She is also an Associate Professor at the University of West Indies in the Master of Science Programme in Forensic Science where she teaches classes annually. 
        Since coming back to the US mainland in 2009, she has been an instructor at the SC Criminal Justice Academy where she taught basic and advanced police science courses including Crime Scene Investigation which she calls “CS-Lie” (because it isn't like TV!), and the SC Coroner’s Association.  She has been a presenter at the USC School Nurses Orientation for the past few years and will be a presenter at the 2016 SC Nurses Annual Conference.   While working at the USC School of Law, Children’s Law Center, she travelled the state as a presenter and instructor for medical, social service and law enforcement personnel in the investigation of child abuse and neglect cases.  
        She is a forensic consultant for CNN and Headline New, Fox Network, and others. DuPre has also been guest speaker on many shows with Nancy Grace. She has written two textbook field guides for law enforcement: Homicide Investigation Field Guide and Investigating Child Abuse Field Guide. She is also a contributing author for several criminal justice textbooks.
       DuPre was a certified police officer (investigator) and has been a featured speaker at numerous conferences and workshops throughout the southeast and nationally. She was the program consultant for the online RN to BSN program at Columbia College in South Carolina and the Director of the Master of Arts in Criminal Justice program at Columbia College.   DuPre has akso consulted and partnered in authoring several criminal justice textbooks.
       In her “spare time” she writes mystery novels under the pen name “Jesse MacWilliams” and cookbooks by Chef MishaLee. She is a certified chef, graduating from the USC Culinary and Wine Institute and has authored a heart healthy cookbook entitled "Entertaining with Chef Mishalee".  She is a Level 1 Certified Sommelier.  She genuinely has a creative flair and is rapidly becomming a recognized artist specializing in "abstract realism" as she calls it. She explain, "I enjoy cityscapes and landscapes but don't like the painstaking details.  I've created abstract painings with a hint of realism.  In other words, you can recognize what the painting is about.  But I also really enjoy pour art and true abstract painting where the viewer can use their imagination to 'see' the painting."

Forensic Pathologist and Medical Examiner
Even in high school she visited the local forensic pathologist to volunteer on weekends and help out with cases.  "The only reason I went to medical school was to be a forensic pathologist.  I was lucky enough to study with some of the best in the business:  Dr. Vincent DiMaio in Texas and then in the Miami-Dade ME office where I had incredible mentors in the profession." 
Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations Manager
After college DuPre decided to take a break from studies and pursue a career in business and marketing.  She accepted a position with Southern Bell as an Account Executive where she excelled rapidly and became the Salesperson of the Year, "Best of the Best".  She waspromoted to AT & T Corporate headquarters where she developed the first Co-Op Marketing Program for AT&T International and travelled the world. 

Eventually she and a partner began their own marketing and avertising agency in the Caribbean where she remained until hurricane Hugo destroyed ninety percent of the island and the business!  She left the Caribbean to pursue her passion for Medicine and Forensics.  She has testified as an expert witness in numerous court cases and has written several criminal justice textbooks and field guides for law enforcement.
